Of course one day is not enough to see everything this city has to offer, but it can give you a great sneak peak: Budapest is full of life, super colourfull, a lot of street food and good drinks, music, smiles and passion. We could talk about it all day, but we chose to make a list with 8 of the city’s highlights which you have to see:
1. The City Park & The Heroes Square
2. Andrássy Avenue – great neo-renaissance boulevard with a beautiful atmosphere; close to it you can find a UNESCO world heritage site, a lot of coffee shops, bars and restaurants, theatres, the Opera and of course, super expensive shops all over the place; here you can try a traditional Hungarian meal;
3. Buda Castle District & Danube Panorama
4. The Parliament by architect Imre Steindl – one of the most famous places in Budapest, also a great selfie spot! 🙂
5. Váci street – if you like shopping of course you have to check it out;
6. A lot of bridges which connect the old Buda with the old Pest and that have great architecture worth seeing;
7. The Zoo is also really big and super fun – check out the lamas!
8. Last but not least: take a small cruise on the Danube for a perfect evening in Budapest;

Monument of 1956 Revolution

Vajdahunyad Castle
Széchenyi Thermal Bath
St. Stephen’s Basilica
See? We were right! Lots of colours, different styles, smiles all over the place. Another tip is: If you want to move fast across the city, use the metro, it’s the best choice. You can chose to travel with the first metro ever in the city – still functional since 1896, or you can take the 4th line where every station has a different architecture which will take your breath away!
