This summer one of our dreams came true! One of the most important things on my bucket list (Miruna speaking!) was crossed: visiting Bauhaus in Dessau, Germany. Bauhaus was one of the most famous schools of art (design and architecture) which was operational from 1919 to 1933 and that changed completely the approach to how to make and, more importantly to me, teach design. Bauhaus was founded by Walter Gropius and it had 3 distinct periods with 3 directors: Walter Gropius (1919-1928), Hannes Meyer (1928-1930) and my ultimate architect-idol Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1930-1933) – (again, Miruna speaking).
